#042 - Rockin’ The Suburbs with Jim & Patrick

This week we’re joined by two very special guests. We’re happy to welcome Jim Lenahan & Patrick Foster, the hosts of the daily music podcast Rockin’ the Suburbs to the show!

These gents have been putting out five shows a week for the past 4 years and have done a fantastic job growing and keeping an active audience, so we took plenty of notes. We actually first launched YSCIO with a three part series on Frank Zappa that Jim & Patrick somehow allowed us to drop into their show feed. We’re still brainstorming the perfect gift to show our gratitude for their kindness and trust, but thanking them aloud when we had them on our own show? No, my friends, that just seemed too small to even bother with (whoops 👍 ).

So what did we discuss then, you ask? Honestly, the topics were too broad and random to list, but you will learn a considerable amount about Sleepy LaBeef (finally get to check that one off your list) & much much less about Martin Briley (we gotta leave something for the next time we have them on, am I right?). Seriously though, much thanks to Jim & Patrick for joining us, they really are fantastic at their craft and it was such a joy to have them on!

Songs:
Martin Briley - Salt of My Tears
Sleepy LaBeef - Shotgun Boogie
Wingtip Sloat - Anything Could Happen

Jim & Patrick have been hosting a Friday Night Hootenanny on Zoom for the past couple months and you, yes, you dear listener are invited to join. Follow them on Facebook or Twitter to learn how you can get into the party. Check out their show or subscribe to the newsletter at https://www.suburbspod.com/

You can find us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Thanks for listening everyone, we’ll see you next week!
