#164 - King Gizzard / The Resilient & G. E. Smith / Ryan Adams
Nick is back on the King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard train, this time he’s bringing Polygondwanaland, the fourth album they released in 2017 called. With a band this prolific, Nick’s chosen to slow walk the courtship and is happy to report it’s going quite well so far.

Greg was back on The East Coast this past week for the Sag Harbor Festival and they were joined by, none other than, G. E. Smith. A hard working and prolific American guitarist since 1979, Smith was the lead guitarist for Hall & Oates during their heyday, fronted & co-directed the SNL band for most of the 80s and has played with an impressive number of artists. Greg gives us the details and we listen to some audio as well!
Songs:
The Resilient (feat. G. E. Smith) - “Gloria”
The Resilient (feat. G. E. Smith) - “Wide River To Cross”
The Resilient (feat. G. E. Smith) - “American Girl”
Jay has always appreciated the music of Ryan Adams, and the controversy surrounding his mistreatment of women (and some men) hasn’t swayed that appreciation. The music stands on its own, as all art must, and Adams hasn’t stopped making it. Quite the contrary, he’s grown more and more productive in his isolation. Jay brings us two track from Adams’ latest record Devolver.
Songs:
Ryan Adams - “Don’t Give It Away”
Ryan Adams - “I’m In Love With You”
